Life Skills Development Coaching Services at Lindner Center of HOPE
The Life Skills Development Coach at Lindner Center of HOPE assists individuals to pursue and achieve their life dreams. By starting with an individual’s strengths, abilities, needs, and preferences, the Life Skills Development Coach develops an individually tailored set of goals and a practical and realistic plan to help construct a full, meaningful and satisfying life. The coach then works to empower the individual to implement the plan successfully in order to achieve their goals.
Services offered by Lindner Center of HOPE’s Life Skills Development Coach include:
- Career Planning and Development
- Educational Planning
- Transitional Planning related to changes in health and/or lifestyle
- Finances and Budgeting
- Motivation and Time Management
- Training in organizational skills; de-cluttering assistance to address hoarding issues
- Stress Management and Life Balance
- Skills training for Organizing, Planning and Problem Solving
- Coordination of community resources and health care providers
- Supportive accountability calls
The services offered by the Life Skills Development Coach focus on the individual and their life goals and dreams. The training in goal-setting, goal achieving, and goal maintenance skills can be applied to almost all aspects of life. The individual receiving these services will have healthy shifts and growth in their personal attitudes, beliefs, and value development.
When applicable, the Life Skills Development Coach will coordinate her efforts closely with other members of the individual’s health care team to help provide the optimal level of integrated care and teamwork possible. The individual does not need to be a patient of other Lindner Center of HOPE services or providers. Fees for services apply.
About the Life Skills Development Coach
The Life Skills Development Coach at the Lindner Center of HOPE, Melissa McCarthy, is a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor as well as a Certified Psychiatric Rehabilitation Practitioner with over 25 years of experience assisting clients in developing goals and achieving their dreams. Mrs. McCarthy has specific certification and training in the following areas: Goal-Setting; Career Counseling; Motivational Interviewing; Hoarding; Smoking Cessation; Weight-loss and Nutrition; Educational Guidance; Personal Growth and Development; Social Networking; Financial Planning; and Organizational Skills.
Mrs. McCarthy has also served on many state and local boards to include the Butler County Mental Health Board, Southwest Ohio Rehabilitation Association, and the United States Psychiatric Rehabilitation Association. In addition, she served as a consultant/trainer for the Evidenced Based Supported Employment model in the state of Ohio and has presented this model at a variety of state and national conferences. Mrs. McCarthy has also presented at local schools, colleges, universities, support groups and networking groups on topics including time management to tips on finding and keeping a job as well as how to structure your day to succeed in school. The Life Skills Development Coach utilizes a highly motivational, skill building and empowering approach to help her clients make their life dreams a reality.
